Bye bye hemangioma, hello happy baby?

Braden has been so worried about Jack because he has been crying so much that he decided to take matters into his own hands.

Ok, maybe not...

We have, however, made significant progress with Jack and are getting closer to uncovering the happy baby we know is behind all these tears. After pushing his dermatologist a little, we arranged a consultation with a plastic surgeon on Monday. The doctor looked at the hemangioma and spent 15 minutes with Jack (he screamed for 13 of them). That was enough for him to determine that Jack could not even wait the 10 days until he had an opening and paged another doctor in his practice who has an opening tomorrow, Wednesday March 11.

Brian and I have mixed emotions. We are excited for this to be over for Jack, for him to be pain free and smile and laugh like his brother. At the same time we are nervous at the prospect of Jack undergoing surgery at just over 4 months and just under 12 pounds. Either way, tomorrow at 2:30p Jack will undergo surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital.

I just put Jack to bed. I wish he could understand that at this time tomorrow he will likely be much more comfortable.

As you can see Braden is completely unfazed by all of this.
